Budgets means how to make the great value of cost of film production. Cost includes TIME & MONEY. If your script or pre-production is not good, this may led to increase the workload in production & post-production stage; to re-shoot may be required at the worst. Finally, you're Budget and the quality of movie may be over and poor respectively.

How should you plan your the Budget?
You must make WHOLE work flow of production of Indie DV film clear, and then you can effectively allocate the resources for your budget.

Distribution of Production Time

Time is money! Production stage costs the most in the budget such as equipments rental. You need to make a good planning for pre-production stage in order to reduce the cost, i.e. production time. In the production stage. So many Hollywood films usually take 1 year or even more to plan the script and pre-production.

Where does the capital come from?

• Pay from Yourself.
• Find people having same ideas with you to form a team, work together.
• Find sponsors like government, colleges.
• Find sponsors like commercial companies. You can show their products in your film.
  (But first condition, you need to have a good-quality  script to sell your idea to sponsors)

Re-write script and Re-plan budget

Script and Budget are interrelated and hence you need to Re-write, Re-plan and Re-write in accordance with the actual situation... to avoid the circumstance of over budget.
